Orthotics
Do you suffer from localized foot pain, bunions, hammer toes, arch/heel pain, leg/knee pain, hip or low back pain? A custom orthotic is a device designed to align the foot and ankle into the most anatomically efficient position. They look like insoles, but are biomechanical medical appliances that are custom made to correct your specific foot imbalance. We perform a gait analysis to assess your feet and provide you a custom fit, manufactured by The Orthotic Group®.
Compression Stockings/Hose
You can benefit from Sigvaris® or Achi® compression hosiery whether you suffer from tired and aching legs because you spend too much time standing or sitting. Compressive medical legwear also helps with swelling and venous diseases such as: varicose veins, venous insufficiency, lymphedema, deep vein thrombosis, or venous ulcers.
Bracing
Whether your injury is acute or chronic, we can fit you for custom or rigid bracing based on the area of injury – knee, shoulder, neck, ankle, wrist, elbow, or low back. We provide our patients with Donjoy® and Bauerfiend® medical bracing.
T.E.N.S. Unit
(Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) – is a portable device that utilizes electric current to stimulate nerves for therapeutic purposes. It uses 2-4 electrodes that adhere to the skin to treat acute to chronic conditions and help reduce pain.
Biofreeze®
A topical analgesic, which works through a ‘counter irritant’ mechanism. This means that the menthol in Biofreeze creates a sensation that overrides pain signals to the brain. This process is known as ‘Gate Control Theory’, where nerve impulses from one stimulus block the nerves containing pain signals to the brain.
Heating Pads
A moist heated pad causes blood vessels in the area to dilate, increasing perfusion to the targeted tissue. It helps relax muscle spasms and reduce muscle pain. Thermophore® heating pads have a hand-held switch that lets you press for heat and release to cool down. It is weighted and flexible, so it conforms to your body’s contours.
